WiredTeens is a members-only online community for 13-17 year olds,
it is part of WiredKids
(notice the s at the end), which is, in turn part of WiredSafety.
WiredKids is the North American Site of UNESCO's Innocence in Danger
Program. It's goal is to educate parents, teachers, teenagers, and
children about the dangers online and to help them enjoy a safe,
educational, and fun Internet.
WiredKidz (with a z) is
WiredTeens' sister site. While we at WiredTeens are dedicated to
making the Internet safer and more enjoyable for teenagers, the
staff at WiredKidz gears their work more towards pre-teens. Oftentimes,
the two programs share their staff and some of the more general
programs, but each it definitely more geared towards different audiences.
If you are already 18 or when you turn 18 and you are interested
in working towards a safer Internet, you can apply
for membership with WiredSafety.
